Why Penn State?
There are literally hundreds of reasons to choose Penn State.
GENERAL INFORMATION
College vs. University

Many students have doubts about to study in a College or in a University, the decision, depend on what you are looking for.
A College just offers a collection of degrees in one specific area, while a University like Penn State have 11 colleges at Penn State University Park and 6 others throughout Pennsylvania, more than 160 baccalaureate majors, 1200 student clubs and organizations, a system of 20 undergraduate campuses across Pennsylvania that enroll first-year students, six of which are recommended for international students and 150 years of tradition.
You have the advantage at Penn State in choosing between majors in a single college, like Education or exploring a variety of majors spanning different colleges while an advisor can guide you through your exploration process that help you make decisions. Also, you can change between their campuses to complete your programs.
Another advantage above others Colleges is that a University tends to maintain research requirements for its instructors and is thus usually a more "research-focused" institution. Penn State faculty brings what their teachers know to the classroom as in depth information and brand new perspectives.
Penn State faculty is recognized nationally and internationally for achievements in teaching and research. Academic programs in many areas are also highly ranked, for engineering to education, business to communications, agriculture to French.
Another advantage is because of the size Penn State University can provide in their campuses a multitude of activities and sports: musical groups and performing arts organizations, club sports, student government organizations, etc.
Also, Penn State provides facilities, services, and special programming that provides the on-campus living experience. Every campus has privately owned housing in the communities they serve.

Public vs. Private
Public and private Universities have some differences but the most important is that the public receive money of the government and private receive the money from the tuitions of the students.
We know that Penn State cannot offer you a free education, but Penn State participates in all federal, state, and institutional student financial aid programs.
The most important thing is that we keep in mind that this world is extremely competitive so an excellent investment in the future is a high quality education that helps you to get an excellent job.
